Masterclass - Angelika Kirchschlager

The active participation in the master classes includes a singing session of about 30 minutes with the lecturer Angelika Kirchschlager daily. The master class takes partly place in a public class. Here, the students also have the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned and to perform in the special atmosphere of  the historic Florentinersaal in the Palais MeranAll active participants of the masterclasses of the Accademia Belcanto Festival may take part in all masterclasses (Christa LudwigEteri LamorisNatela NicoliGiacomo Aragall) as passive listeners.

Angelika Kirchschlager

KS Angelika Kirchschlager was born in Salzburg. She studied singing at the Wiener Musikakademie with Walter Berry and Gerhard Kahry. The singer performed at the most important opera and concert halls in the world, a. at the Scala, the ROH Covent Garden, the Met, the Opera Bastille in Paris, the Bavarian State Opera, the Salzburg Festival, the Deutsche Oper and the Philharmonic Berlin, the San Francisco Opera. On September 20, 1994, she made her debut at the Vienna State Opera as Cherubino (Nozze di Figaro). She has also appeared as: Orlofsky, Rosina, Nicklausse, Octavian, Composer (Ariadne on Naxos), Valencienne (Funny Widow), Silla (Palestrina) , Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Stéphano (Roméo et Juliette), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Clairon (Capriccio), Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and the title part of the children's opera Peter Pan. She had a great success both at the premiere in London and at the Volksoper in the title role of Sophie's Choice. In 2007 she received the title Austrian Kammersängerin.
